North Devon Council Bulky Item Collection Service

The North Devon Council are able to offer a special collection for large items of furniture such as wardrobes, beds, tables and bookcases. This must be arranged beforehand, and on the chosen day of collection items will need to be ready on the kerbside by 6am. The cost of this service will depend on the size and weight of items needing to be collected. To arrange for collection, please call their Waste and Recycling Team on 01271 374776.

Please be aware that items will need to be cleaned and emptied prior to collection, and any fabric items (such as mattresses and sofas) will need to be covered from rain.

Examples of furniture that can be collected:

 Bed frames and mattresses

 Wardrobes (1-2 doors)

 Desks and dressing tables (1-2 doors per item)

 Bookcases, drawers and cabinets (1-2 doors per item)

 Garden furniture

 Sofas (one item per piece) and armchairs

 Electric armchairs (the motor needs to be removed or separate so it's not too heavy)

 Table and chair sets (max 4 chairs per item)
