When you buy new furniture from Barrow Clark, you're investing in your home. But what about the furniture you're replacing? Instead of the hassle of disposal, why not see if it can be donated to North Devon Hospice first? 

It's simple, convenient, and helps provide vital care right here in North Devon.

How it works - it couldn't be easier

1. Contact North Devon Hospice 

Send photos of your furniture via WhatsApp to 07821 668453 along with your location. The team will review your photos and be in contact to let you know what's next. 

2. We arrange collection

Choose a time that suits you - North Devon Hospice will collect directly from your home. No need to hire a van, lift heavy items, or make trips to the tip. 

3. Your furniture gets a new home 

Your pre-loved pieces are sold in North Devon Hospice's Furniture Shop (either the Barnstaple or Holsworthy store), giving them a second life while raising vital funds.

This service is completely FREE - and takes all the stress out of furniture disposal.

What can you donate? 

North Devon Hospice welcomes quality, pre-loved furniture in good condition, including: 

 Sofas, chairs and armchairs 

 Dining tables and chairs 

 Bedroom furniture (wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside tables) 

 Coffee tables, sideboards and display units 

 Beds and mattresses (in excellent condition) 

Quality matters: Because your furniture will be resold to support the hospice, items need to be clean, in good working order, and free from significant damage or wear.

Safe & Legal bit: All upholstered/soft furnishings must have Fire Safety labels attached. Not sure if your furniture is suitable? Just send a photo via WhatsApp and the team will make an initial check. We make sure that items are fit for sale and meet safety requirements; our friendly drivers will review the items on collection.

If your furniture isn't suitable for donation, we can still help you dispose of it responsibly: 

Option 1: Use your local authority's bulky goods collection service (charges apply):
